Though the motives of Boston bombing suspects—brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev—remain unclear, their “methodologies are identical” to terrorism attacks in Chechnya, a U.S. counterterrorism and North Caucasus expert told USNI News on Friday.

“The same scenario occurs frequently in the North Caucasus, using a single bomb, often in a trash can, then when emergency services arrive, a second bomb goes off, sometimes a third one,” said Paul J. Murphy, author of Allah’s Angels: Chechen Women in War.

20-Apr-2013 Update: Profile of Tsarnayev Family BOSTON/DAGESTAN – Vesti.ru reports that the Tsarnayev family, arriving in Makhachkala from Kirgiziya in 2001, was registered as living in the village of Khyushet, but in fact lived in different apartments in the city, constantly moving from one apartment to another.   Anzor, the 47-year-old father and a former Chechen policeman, lived in a five story apartment building on Koshevogo Street and opened a business there, but it soon failed.  RETWA reported yesterday that Tamerlan and Dkhokar had studied at School No. 1 in Makhachkala. The Russian media is reporting today that this is a “prestigious” school. The boys’ sisters Alina also studied there in the fifth grade, and Bela in the 7th. But in March 2002, the family left for the U.S.  In the words of the school’s current director Emirmagomed Davudov, no one at the school can remember anything about them.  Acccording to the uncle Ruslan Tsarni, Dzhokhar was born in Dagestan. The family is now refusing to speak further with journalists and has reportedly gone into hiding.
